ZERO TOLERANCE RIBBON

Female Genital Mutilation, or FGM, is the inhumane practice of cutting or removing the genital organs of young girls. Egypt has the highest number globally, with a prevalence of 87.2% in a population of over 100 million.

28 Too Many launched a movement on the International Day of Zero tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation to end it in the next years. The first step was to create a unifying symbol that would give people a voice to say "NO" to this inhumane practice. In partnership with local hospitals, parents of newborn baby girls were asked to sign a pledge against FGM.
